Silver Lake Health – February 2020

Solitude Lake Management Service completed their quarterly lake inspection and reported the following on February 2, 2020

During the lake monitoring visit, no actively growing algae or aquatic weed growth was found in the lakes. There is a moderate amount of shoreline erosion occurring around both lakes, as well as some isolated sediment accumulation at the inflow locations around the lakes. There is a large amount of woody vegetation growing at the beginning of the emergency spillway between LittleSilver Lake, and Silver Lake. The woody vegetation is reducing water flow, which is causing the water to overflow the dam during high flow periods. The woody vegetation and organic debris should be removed from the emergency spillway to prevent water from flowing over the dam. Overall, both lakes are in good condition.
