Silver Lake Health Inspection – May 2020

Solitude Lake Management Service completed their quarterly lake inspection and reported the following on May 8, 2020:

During the lake monitoring visit, a large amount of alligator weed growth was found along the shoreline in Little Silver Lake, and in the upper end of Silver Lake. There was also a small amount of filamentous algae beginning to grow along the shoreline in Little Silver Lake. The emergency spillway between the two lakes has a large amount of woody debris growing in the rip-rap. The vegetation growth needs to be treated to prevent any water flow obstructions. There are also a fair number of small trees beginning to grow along the dam of Little Silver Lake. These trees also need to be treated. A large amount of erosion was found along the shoreline of both lakes. We will continue to monitor the lakes.
