Georgia Stormwater Services completed its quarterly lake inspection and reported the following on July 29, 2026:
During the quarterly lake maintenance visit a large amount of alligator weed growth was found in Little Silver Lake, and a moderate amount of alligator weed growth was found in the upper end of Silver Lake. All of the alligator weed was treated to reduce the amount of growth present. A small amount of woody vegetation growth was noted in the concrete dam of Silver Lake and a large amount of woody vegetation growth was found on the dam between the two lakes. Both dams were treated to reduce the amount of woody vegetation growth present. The vegetation on the dam needs to be mowed a couple times per year to discourage woody vegetation growth. Little Silver Lake is shallow overall due to heavy sedimentation and organic debris/muck accumulation and the water level was slightly below full pool, which made a few areas of the Little Silver Lake inaccessible by boat. Both spillways were also cleared of debris to improve water flow. We will continue to monitor the lakes and will treat them accordingly.
